Now from the same article I referenced in the lead post of this thread comes the following:

Whoa! Hold on a moment ....
So Tony Abbott is undertaking to have his scheme up and running in 100 days but he has criticised the hell out of Kevin Rudd for not sending asylum seekers to PNG on the same day operational arrangements were flagged.
Now that sounds awfully like a hypocritical double standard to me.
What poetic justice it would be if Kevin Rudd now dumps a mountain of crap all over Abbott's ill-conceived plan and effectively confuses and railroads it.
Abbott's reactionary outbursts have to be digested in the context in which they have been broadcast - attempting to save his own political neck.
Abbott must now also explain and defend his decision to politicise our military personnel and before the sun sets tonight.
