    Not so much as time on their hands as poor upbringing.

    It is a natural instinct in species to reject those that don't fit the mold. A primitive response to perceived danger to the purity of a species.

    While we argue that a diverse gene pool is essential for the health and stamina of animal species that is not the current thinking re humans.

    So it becomes an issue of "indoctrination" or education against instinct.

    Spirit or flesh as some would see it. If parents mutter about that "wog" or those **** next door, then why are we surprised when little Billy grows up with racist ideas. The parents who probably never took any action will be shocked that their progeny could behave that way.
