An article in the ABC web site makes derogitary comments about the King Is mine. It is a lead up to the 4 Corners program. I have issues with the article, I doubt that King Is will be the world's largest nor is it a giant mine but it does have the richest ore. Then there is the implication that it will be polluting. There is no mention that the ore has very few contaminants and can be readily used for land fill.
