John Lyons was a journalist for a large private sector newspaper and was stationed in Israel for a numbers of years.
He wrote a book on how Palestinians were treated in the West Bank by the IDF called, ”Balcony over Jerusalem”.
What I found confronting was that in the first few chapters, he discusses on how our Jewish diaspora and Israeli embassy manipulate our politicians to present a positive perception of Israel.
It also involves our Media organisations to report only positive articles on Israel. Generally our media and politicians get a free junket to Israel, plus political donations to our major parties.
If the inducements don’t sway the thinking then comes the threats to politicians and media bosses.
