    I don't think it is a case of whether their property went up or down in price. Even if there was a short-term capital gain they would have to sell to realise it so the issue is about affordability for these people.

    Based on their income, or lack of it, they were given mortgages that they could not afford by people who know better and did so for their own financial gain. Clearly they are scavengers.

    I will sing the praises of those that give people a start in life only if they are given a fighting chance, these had no hope and the scavengers know it.

    If the a similar transaction is done today it is the same thing, no hindsight required.
