Are all Germans like that? Mostly unless they are from Hamburg. The further towards the centre the more serious they get. So Frankfurt or Dusseldorf hits a max and then you have the southerners who hate the Austrians more than they hate the French or the easterners who see the Czech border as the end of the earth. Berlin is like a sanctuary. When you get to Austria you understand where the Fuhrer came from as they are like Indians (more German than the German and Indians are more English than the English).

But as you know, I grew up 12 streets from Elizabeth Street so you and I are essentially the same.
