    Yep, that's definitely a factor.
    Fires occurring during a dry spring (typically the windy season on the eastern edge of the country) is another factor. The challenges of finding an appropriate window for hazard reductions, along with less active volunteers available to do the "unglamorous" work is another factor (amazing how many bright sets of yellows you see being dusted off and worn around town when the press is full of adulation for the RFS again). The increasing number of NFI numpties making tree and see changes and being caught off guard every time something goes wrong is another factor. The changing flora and the generally drier climate is another factor. The general inaction caused by fear of making a bad decision and being held accountable for the rest of your life is another factor.

    Heck, there's alot of variables involved in making a once in a generation fire tragedy.

    But who wants to face facts and be productive when it is so much easier to showboat an opinion and play the socio political blame game?
