What I was saying is that there is no way of knowing the full extent of the budget deficit until we get the delayed budget. Then the forward estimates will be vital in outlining the void that will be the centrepiece of many budgets to come.
Perhaps it's a tad early to start talking taxation reform, which Ken Henry would tell you is a waste of time if it's not politically expedient. As the economy and the average Australian still must digest what has, is and will happen there might be a degree of shellshock. Not the time to talk complex issues in public.
