This does seem like an odd area to showcase the technology but yes it's publicity and it'll raise the profile of the company and like Hughjas says there will be a very large number of potential investors looking in.
It's odd that an ASX listed company is being allowed to do this though. Maybe it's a look at how far an idea or invention can go using the ipo route?
