Yeah, hire companies employing people with little education in health requirements of a virus pandemic, rounded up at short notice, on short-term contracts for the vital job of quarantine security, in preference to police, adf and others who were readily available.
Then, when it predictably falls to pieces, quickly initiate an Enquiry to blame the companies you selected, who generally hire out security for concerts and pubs etc, for not being up to scratch for the tight discipline required for quarantine security.
Then, stop answering reporters' questions because you have initiated an Enquiry.
The public already knows this failure to protect the public from a new, highly infectious, deadly virus had its genesis in the stupid political decision to appoint the wrong people for the job.
I mean, imagine the movie....the political hero says:
'Quick, we've got to quarantine the infected, asap! The federal government has offered troops and equipment, our State police say they can do the job, the Health department has staff and expertise.
Hmmm, no, we won't use trained people already on the govt payroll. Quick, call half a dozen security companies who hire out bouncers and mall security to quickly hire a whole lot more untrained people from where ever for a few weeks work, that should do the trick.
Oh, and make sure the companies get a photocopy of a FAQ sheet about deadly coronaviruses and quarantine, droplet spread, aerosol spread, isolation, safe contact, the relevant law, sanitisation, security and civil rights, etc...oh yeah, make sure the new employees all bring a mask, or a footy scarf, or a clean tea-towel and two rubber-bands.'
