    Trouble with saving $3,800/year is that it is probably more than what vast majority of people are paying at the moment.

    Reminds me of those insurance advertisements where people are saving more than what the insurance costs in the first place.

    I can see the benefits of an NBN however, the cost benefit analysis depends more on who you talk to and those assumptions were ultra optimistic. It is a lot of dollars for an internet service which the market is already providing. I can however, really understand the benefits for the bush but we still should be looking at other technologies such as satellites as it is expensive to lay cable to those remote locations.
