I think the ABC needs a total overhaul and given a new sense of direction.
Does it need to be our (and the worlds?)self styled moral conscience? Who gives them this right?
I travel a fair bit, particularly in Asia. The amount of negative sentiment poorly researched/biased news reports the ABC puts to air on events in SE Asia is amazing.
It makes you wonder if they have ever been to these places-or if they have, what were they smoking at the time!
Their financial coverage is all over the shop-why cover it then?
Sport-centred out of the Sydney bureau with little if any regional input.
That just typifies their problems- how about more coverage of what is relevent to this country (Landline etc), and more particularly, greater regional input-do they really have to cover crud such as Michael Jackson,leave that to the commercial networks .
The whole place needs a thorough going over.
Side story-journalist mate of mine went for a position with the ABC 18 months ago. Missed the job-word was he missed out as he was straight and /or the wrong sex. LOL
