Never under estimate the politics of it all. All we need is this one good Samaritan calling for a moratorium on fracking because it has 'not been proven to be safe'. How the hell can you prove it to be safe if you claim it to be safe yet are not allowed to prove it! A moratorium will essentially stuff us up for at least a few years while these people will take their time only to come up with what has already been known through a million+ wells already drilled world wide.
How much risk does a test of 4 wells pose? It should at least be allowed to go ahead while all other issues about fracking are being addressed if an actual development is to go ahead in the future. For all we know all those gas could be a useless commodity that can't be commercially extracted! It's better to find it out sooner rather than later.
