So once the chinese build their military posts in SI you will then try to kick them out? ... GOOD LUCK WITH THAT!!! .... it seems you want your children and grandchildren speak Mandarin eh? Like it or not, Australia's presence in the Pacific must stay. If war ever breaks up those islands are strategic posts. Far more expensive to try to regain those islands once they fall in chinese hands. Big brother might/might not help.
