    Yellowcake,
Join you in your disappointment about the standard of ABC news recently. We watch every night and find that the proportion of time given to very important world events is slight to say the least. Not only this but sport seems to take a disproportionate percentage of the time allotted, business and finance possibly a couple of minutes only, certainly not enough.
Of course people are interested in sport and reporting is appropriate but the balance is not there, not everyone adores football but it should be reported for those who do.
With regard to global affairs I wonder if it's their budget that does not allow them access to these events, they don't have the budget of the commercial stations. Don't know and I'm just guessing. I've seen and read news items on the net which didn't even rate a mention on the ABC news. This is very sad
The radio news does seem to be more up-to-date.SBS news is of a far better quality but what is happening to our national broadcaster?
Thank you for bringing this issue up; do we all write or what?
    Regards,
    Cubbie
