There are multiple groundwater sampling and monitoring wells stepped out from the pre-production burn area ... the living daylights will be tested out of groundwater before, during and after the pre-production burn and groundwater quality is one of the key KPI's for a successful trial.
The Chinchilla shutdown by Walker/Blinderman in 2002 was completely without adverse effect on groundwater in/around and down gradient from that trial burn ... ie it was a complete environmental success.
PS ... pushed the BPay button 30mins ago on my max spp entitlement.
