When something -- such as a UBI or SYDDP is introduced or suggested... it is a lot easier to Understand and work with if a Percentage is Increased or Decreased --such as 20% GST up from 10% .. of what we all ready know.....Instead of having to Start all over again.
When the GST was originally suggested-- You may remember that there was a couple of Years of Lead up and Submissions whitpapers/Greenpaers -- before settling on the Current Format.
I seem to recollect that the idea of Exemption of basic Foods Milk - fruit/Veges etc -- Essential Items were exempt as people did not have a choice as they required Food to live... Wealthier People ,- who eat out at High class restaurants -- Elect/choose to eat at those establishments hence they Elect to Pay A GST component.
So my idea is to Increase the GST Percentage , -- not alter the make up of the GST - which is already accepted by the community.
