Former HRW head says ABC made mistake in Antoinette Lattouf dismissal

It was meant to be a brief on-air job, presenting ABC Radio Sydney during the Christmas break. But three days into her one-week stint, Lebanese-Australian journalist and social commentator Antoinette Lattouf was told not to come back.

Her lawyer Josh Bornstein has told Nine Newspapers Ms Lattouf was informed at her dismissal that sharing a Human Rights Watch post on the Gaza conflict was a breach of the ABC's social media policy. The case is now before the Fair Work Commission.

RN Breakfast yesterday contacted ABC Chair Ita Buttrose, Managing Director David Anderson and Chief Content Officer Chris Oliver-Taylor to come on the program this morning. All three declined.

Guest: Kenneth Roth, Former executive director of Human Rights Watch. Visiting professor at Princeton SPIA.

    Producer:

    Eleni Psaltis
