For example only; Barrie Cassidy comes from a very large Christian family of very humble origins. His assignments included postings in the Middle East at times when it was extremely dangerous to be there. He was employed by people like Bob Hawke because of his experience and expertise as an investigative journalist.

People like Cassidy are self-made success stories that Australians should be proud of; they have the courage to search for the real facts and the media skills to meaningfully present them to all walks of life.

Some posters on this forum seem unaware that Kevin Rudd was frequently the target of analysis and critical comment on Cassidy's show; Insiders. In contrast Tony Abbott backers including Nikki Savva, Gerard Henderson and Piers Ackerman made frequent appearances and sang pleasant Tony Abbott tunes ad nauseum.

Denigrating the likes of Cassidy in the manner some are making an artform on this forum reveals far more about those people than it does about Cassidy and other ABC staff.
