Just flicked on ABC24 half an hour ago and caught the end of a story on Chinas restriction of REEs and that it may have nothing to do with cleaning up the mines and everything to do with getting overseas manufacturers to move to china to produce and then steal there technology for themselves.
Cant find a link to it on the ABC site but it will probably be repeated lateron today.
