My impression of the commercial press is it is biased to the interest of the people that operate it & also towards the interest of those pay them the most. For example, the Australian Newspaper has become very right wing.
My alternative impression of The ABC is they try to be objective & try to emphasise what is ethical in society.
When I learned about the ICAC hearings, it became quite widespread & evident to me not only how corporate and business influence politicians and governments, but how there was so much corruption in the Labor Party as well as the Liberal Party.
