If I had to guess...
I would say that the answer to your question ( Since when did Sales .... being rudely interrupted? ) is .....
every single time the interviewee directly answers the question PLUS some fraction of the time they don't directly answer the question.
that's your answer right there.
SO! if you're getting a bit teary eyed about a journalist pressing a question and not allowing the interviewee to just blather their talking points, you should direct that frustration at the interviewee .. NOT the journalist
