    A good deal of those subsidies is to do with the mines having to construct and maintain their own roads, so they don't pay the fuel levy which is for road construction etc. Absolutely reasonable, unless you are trying to twist an argument in a certain direction. Not to mention that the coal mines pay royalties and taxes in return and are one of Australia's largest exports, once they are up and running.

    Business and the greenies are like the sun and the moon, one creates life and the other is just a drag.
