The recent attempts to retrospectively give aboriginal people all kinds of attributes they don’t have is pathetic at best. Our academics and intellectuals are practising academic fraud on an epic scale.
Why have aboriginal people embraced western values instead of their traditional culture? Why has Mundine abandoned his traditional religion and embraced Islam, a foreign religion?
One of the things that appalled the early explorers was the attitude of aboriginal men to the women. Is that aspect of their culture worth preserving?
