''Handouts to anyone, regardless of colour or race, most definitely will create laziness....''

that is what many Australians think -------------------- be very aware that all of the world does NOT think like that - not at all

many nations have very much larger welfare payments than Australia - they do that out of common sense and human decency.

Their people however - do not piss off and buy a surfboard and live on a beach - they get into and back to meaninful jobs as soon as they can --------

one reason for that is that they actually have education and meaningful work ----------- as opposed to Australia where real education is absolutely lacking and job training which we call education puts people into boring, uninteresting jobs often in horrible places

your assumption on that if people get given money in general and will be lazy - is a cultural thing ----------- it is NOT a cultural problem elsewhere

throughout the vast bulk of history - the greatest thinkers and workers, the people who have made a difference and the people who have left behind things that we marvel at - have more than often been fully supported by someone or a number of people or organisations

do you understand there is a word called patron ----------

Di Vinci had a patron ----------------- which meant that he was given money ----------------------- do you think that money caused Leonardo to become 'lazy'?????? He's not the only one - history is littered with examples.

this 'lazy' comes in only in certain cultures ------------- if the society and culture was more sophisticated and developed - no such thing happens

Australia is the land of boneheaded people and politicians ------------ most of the problems are created because there's no 'real' education system, there's no appreciation of arts, culture and classics

the problem is NOT giving money - the problem is with Australians

Whitlam showed us the way ----------- free tertiary education. The sheer numbers who flooded to university and overwhelmed the campuses ------------ showed us one thing = Australians WANT to learn, to develop ---------- the problem is that they cannot. The resources are not in place, the support isn't there for them. (the result was such a flood of people - Hawke had to control it)

Individual support is needed to educate a nation - and the resources must also be in place to accept the numbers

do it right and people won't buy a surfboard, go to the beach and drink grog - it's that simple

heaven forbid, one could end up with a nation, although IMO in this era, the race pace is now too quick for Oz to catch
