I know there's a number of small "Indigenous" mining contractors, equipment hire and/or labour hire companies that mining companies use purely to get their diversity quotas.
I assume it's similar for government and construction contracts.
I say "Indigenous" because I know a couple blokes employed by them and one is from Ghana and the other USA. I guess there's nothing wrong with that, diversity is diversity, especially when you have some arbitrary quota to meet. I just have an issue with the hypocrisy of claiming to be some champion for Indigenous people while your only hiring requirement is that your skin be an appropriate level on the color scale.
