IMO, the main issue confronting Indigenous people in remote settlements is that there is very little opportunity for gainful employment particuluarly for the men . This perpetuates the Culture of Poverty characterised by single parenthood, poor health & the abnormally high incidence of criminal
behaviours. IMO, if white people were confined in such remote communities, they too would lapse into the Culture of Poverty within a generation.
We have more sociologists, social antropologists , social workers and social engineers than ever before but all they seem to want to do is to wrire a few academic papers on indigenous affairs to keep themselves in a job when the real challenge is (ala Marx) to change history; not only to understand it!
