    And the high court of Australia explicitly did not state that indigenous people owned the land.

    That treaty was indeed deemed invalid because Indigenous were deemed not to own the land.

    So both the British & Australian legal system have stated that indigenous did not own the land.

    Pretty decisively clear on both counts.
