This is what I have been saying all along re the NT intervention.
It would have been so easy for Labor to say we agree with the sentiment that things need to be fixed up with Aboriginal Australia but NOT the way the govt proposes to go about it and especially not with the land grab and without due consultation.
The Australian public is not stupid they can recognise the difference between ends and means but the Howard legacy of wedging is so strong that Labor has been effectively paralysed.
Howard has so much to answer for and his legacy will remain long after he has gone. This is a man who will be reviled by most Australians for years to come.
