To be honest though, the cashless card is not managed well - it's a pointless cost. It just drives poverty.

You can get cash advance loans direct debited from the cashless welfare card. So, if they want money for whatever activity is harmful, they can get it - from a lender - and pay it back with interest.

In my view it would have a far better effect on poverty to have much stricter controls on lending to people who receive welfare payments. You would not believe some of the things I see on peoples bank accounts.
