I have some shoulder issues that may indicate a labrum tear. I'll find out shortly from an MRI next week. I'll be starting course of pentosan soon, so if it is a labrum tear we'll see if I respond. Another data point.
That said I don't expect a great deal from pentosan with a torn labrum. Different kind of tissue, different kind of injury, no blood supply, no support to close the tear etc. Not that I am a physician.
