There should be no benefits without work, ideally piecework. I was paid $7 per ~500 kg bin and could make just below average wages back in 74 picking 3.5-4 bins per day. Peaches was harder, up a ladder paid $8/bin and the peach fluff would really hurt with an unceasing itch so I preferred the tomatoes.
It is no wonder people struggle to buy houses, when their work ethic is so poor.
People want it all now, so borrow against next 30 years income, and when a "surprise" recession comes expect to be bailed out.
Well this will end very badly for those who haven't learned to work, and some true hardship cases will go down the chute in the same collapse. Or the whole country will go full-tilt socialism and only a small elite will thrive over mass starvation like the Soviets Union, Venezuela etc etc .
