Lakshmi.... Have you any idea how many people work in the broking/finance industry dealing with CFDs, options, shorts, warrants etc? It is many thousands. They work for flash well connected companies in Pitt street and Bourke street. No govt will take them on and try to close them. But a few convictions re those breaking the law (and please not someone who made 2 grand when some have made scores of millions)will send a shudder through the industry and i believe it will largely(not entirely) improve things.
We need liquid mkts. But they must be open to scrutiny.
