Besides the large scale export coal project the Company is actively pursuing:

*Domestic power projects incorporating clean coal technology and carbon capture sequestration; and
*Underground coal gasification (“UCG”) opportunities.

Waratah is in discussions with a third party possessing promising clean coal technology.

UCG is technology which allows the energy potential of deeper coal resources to be realized without the mining
of the coal. There are several companies in Australia beginning to show positive steps towards the successful
commercialization of this technology.

The size of Waratah’s UCG target areas is such that exploration success would lead to a project of sufficient scale to support a world class petrochemical development. Waratah is in discussions with a third party for the provision of leading edge UCG technology.
