If someone spilled Marmite on your Ouja Board, your Marmite sounds a bit runny - must be a cheap copy - can't buy the real stuff anywhere.

Re debate over the fact that the right to bear arms is likely predominantly for reasons other than self defence against a tyrannical govt, you COULD be right there, "gun owners in the US would certainly scupper any serious debate on that issue".

I didn't say society is civilised, I said it is "SUPPOSED" to be civilised. There is obviously all sorts of violence. However, despite the biblical "eye for an eye" concept (which certainly has its merits at times, especially when we or our family members might have been at the receiving end), we as a society have somewhat moved on and therefore, we must put our faith in the system's ability to punish those who commit these offences and put systems in place to try to minimise and reduce these attacks.

Obviously we can quote many examples of where an individual has had to take matters into his/her own hands, or else...but that does not unfortunately justify everyone being allowed to own weapons - this is where the US is at and under the protection/guise/excuse of the second amendment (right to bear arms against a tyrannical govt), it has certainly spiraled well out of control...

...what you propose COULD ultimately lead to anarchy.

Careful cleaning your gun - hope there is no live ammo in the chamber.
