Yes, with their VERY strong balance sheet ALU can afford to pay a dividend but I hope they don't just yet.
In my opinion I'd like to see any div' paid from earnings or positive operating cashflow rather than use any of their cash in the bank at this stage.
ALU's earnings are heavilly affected by the US/AUD exchange rate, which after recent improvement should lead to much better earnings/cashflow, hopefully in the near future. This would provide a better base for a resumption of regular dividends.
Great to see the latest shareprice movement - this one really takes off on good news!
