copper stocks fell 1,575 tonnes to 281,600 tonnes -- its lowest since mid-November and down from above 500,000 tonnes in late February.
"The length and severity of the ongoing U.S., European and Japanese recessions will now determine the supply/demand balance," Fairfax analysts said about copper.
