Copper continues it's upward trend
On the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange, copper for July delivery gained 8.9 cents to end at $2.301 a pound. Traded less actively, the front-month June contract also ended higher at $2.3015 a pound.
Copper had ended lower in the previous two sessions, falling in tandem with crude oil. Some analysts said despite the recent declines, they expect copper prices to continue rising.
The recent price pullback "was merely an overdue correction," said Edward Meir, an analyst at MF Global. "Copper's upchannel remains intact."
