Some years ago my brother bought a very successful business. It was only when he was shown by the owner how the business operated that he discovered that the owner could not read or write.

He was however a shrewd operator knowing how to make money. The lack of academic qualifications was not a drawback.

My brother also did not have academic qualifications but that was no bar to him becoming very wealthy.

Some people without University training can have that practical application some academics lack.

Now don't think that I do not think academic qualifications are important. I am just pointing out that not all successful people need them to succeed.
