For all you Condisoil fans, I have previously posted the 2019 Malaysian study on Magnesium-rich synthetic gypsum aka MRSG aka LAMP Condisoil input (=blend of WLP & NUF, the two byproduct streams from ore processing).
Here is the wrap-up of the Condisoil discussion from page 32 of the Academy report, which covers the topic well.
But it isn't all cookies and milk:
Here is the recommendations made with respect to the LAMP:
Interesting. 1% of gross sales, wow!
The Malaysians previously asked Lynas to stop researching any further commercial uses of its "radioactive waste", as the text also mentions on the same page.
Does Lynas need to add a cost of $10-20 million per year to "research" Condisoil when it is no longer relevant to their operation? The reason Lynas needed Condisoil to go large was to provide some relief from the storage problem. They were about to run out of storage space for their WLP+NUF; it was piling up because they had never succeeded in getting Condisoil (WLP+NUF) approved. The value of Condisoil was entirely a matter of its impact on storage at the LAMP. Its monetary value was always secondary.
Stop the Research or, if you must, do it somewhere cheaper.
I would like to hear the plans for the byproducts (WLP+NUF) that Lynas will soon be producing at the new Kalgoorlie. They say the byproducts will all go back to the mine after removing the troublesome Kalgoorlie temporary storage site from KAL plans during first review, which suggests that the very large kieserite ponds are purely for dewatering prior to shoveling it all into bags and containers and sending it back by truck and rail to the mine.
