Acadia has consistently indicated that the Rett Syndrome patient pool in the US is between 6000-9000 patients.Recently I have come across two organisations[Rett Syndrome Research Trust and University of California San Francisco[UCSF] both indicating that "Rett Syndrome is found in one in every 10,000 female newborns in the U.S and about 15,000 girls and women have Rett Syndrome in the U.S".
This seems to suggests that:
* the US Daybue patient pool of affected females is potentially a much larger resource than previously understood or
*the initial take-up of Daybue treatment is much slower than previously indicated.
Both of the above scenarios would seem to be good news for Neuren
