SEEKING SUPPORT AGAINST ACCC WHO WANTS TO CAN FREE MEDIA

ACCC chair Rod Sims is wrong to attempt to force Google & Facebook to pay stiff penalties in the hundreds of millions of dollars if they don't pay Australian media companies for the content used by readers in their discussions about the media released FREE OF CHARGE from taxpayer-funded government departments, ABC & SBS.

We the readers and citizens should have rights to obtain free access DIRECT FROM the 2 million taxpayer-funded public servants and to discuss their news on Google & Facebook without needing approval from ACCC.

The problem can very easily be solved if ACCC and all government departments, authorities, councils and the Federal & State Police were to set up public pages and send media releases direct to Facebook and Google instead of showing favouritism by releasing direct to old media.

I have set up a Facebook page titled
"Government Media Releases" where all important Victorian government media releases will be copied from

Seeking assistance from internet experts to simplify the transmission of Public Sector news direct through Facebook and Google without needing to go through biased clickbait merchants which the ACCC appears to be supporting..

SHOULD REA ASX PAY FAIRFAX MEDIA?

In a paid ad in my email this morning The Market Herald asks whether REA , SEEK or CARSALES should be required to pay old media too for stealing their advertising revenues?

"the economic malaise of legacy publishers is not caused by losing to Google and Facebook. It was caused by losing classified advertising. REA, Seek and Carsales are collectively worth $23bn. They are the "reason" why traditional media is challenged. Should they be required to pay as well? "

Did ACCC conduct an objective report on commercially manufactured journalism using free of charge information from taxpayer funded government sources ?

    PROTECTIONISM RARELY WORKS!!

"This is a curious outcome. ... successful digital businesses are being asked to support inefficient legacy businesses. Not unlike the billions of dollars spent on supporting Australian car manufacturing. It didn't end well. Protectionism rarely works."

ACCC seems to have lost its way and become worse than the corporate bullies themselves

    What are readers opinions ?
