Short term logic. TPG is a pretty tough competitor on price for fixed line services, so if they merge, some of that pricing pressure may be relieved - allowing for more profit.
However, in the medium-term the advantage of a merged entity becomes a disadvantage because TPG/Voda would become a very dangerous competitor in 5G mobile sector in the next 3-5 years.
