update:barloworld offers to divest bristol Barloworld offers to divest Bristol in effort to get ACCC approval for merger with WYL
In an effort to get ACCC approval for its merger with WYL, Barloworld has committed to the disposal of: (1) its Bristol brand; (2) up to 50 of its 85 Bristol stores; (3) its 35-store Bristol Banner Group franchise; and (4) one manufacturing facility. The ACCC said that it will undertake market inquiries on Barloworld's proposed divestiture. The closing date for submissions from interested parties is 30 May. The ACCC's decision is now expected by 15 June, leaving WYL in limbo for a while yet.
