completely and utterly agree....investigations, senate committee meetings, consultation periods are usually code for "we don't want to change anything, lets just pretend we care & hopefully the plebs will forget and move on".
Joshy and Morrison should provide same tax payer underwritten guarantee to new entrants, including tax concession to promote competition. the big four should be compelled thru legislation to direct some of the profits to supporting struggling industries like the farmers.
Our banks are extremely fat, lazy, & inefficient, they can often sustain massive write downs, thru phuck ups and mistakes & still post billion dollar profits.....This should be one of ALP key missions policies.....because its clearly of no interest to the LNP
I always like the counter argument when above measures are proposed....''oh but we want to maintain a free market economy''....okay! then stop giving the big four a massive advantage. The current banking industry is not a free market system.
