Well, I have no problem with Liberal governments "stealing" green policies.
This is pretty much what has happened in many European countries over recent decades. In Germany, at one stage the Greens had become almost irrelevant. With the general population being quite environmentally conscious, most major parties had to adopt environmentally friendly policies, leaving little differentiation for the Greens.
Looking at the conservative UK government of today, it too has "stolen" lots of policies from the Greens.
