Yes ...She does use power during the day !! Like most of us !!

She was thinking ... that if she hands over thousands of $$'s ...she would get " Free Electricity " from the PV System on her roof.

That is NOT how the system works ...She would also have to spend another $ 10,000 for a Battery System.

This how the PC System works ...PV power is send to the Inverter ...From there the power is put through a Meter and send in to the Mains Grid.

The power she uses in her house comes from the Mains Grid in to her house via a Meter.

So for her PV power going in the the Mains Grid ...she gets 8Cents per Kwh (Credit )

The power from the Mains Grid in to the house via a Meter ( about 30Cents per Kwh )

So her final bill will have the Credit deducted from her bill.



Also if you turn off the power coming from the Mains Grid ...The whole system ( PV ) shuts down as well.
