Well, as part of your engineering tuition, you would have learnt that, to establish the causal relationship between any two variables, in this case human activity and atmospheric evolution, all other determining variables have to be identified and held constant.
Which is what modelling does not do.
At best, models demonstrate correlative relationships; they don’t prove causal ones.
No self-respecting engineer would acknowledge that, and in doing so, not be skeptical about modelling.
