ln some ways the delay has been fortunate because the technology wasn't quite there yet.
E.g. Grid batteries.
They are a crucial component of a renewable grid and they didn't exist when Labor was in power. lt's amazing how much technology has changed in such a relatively short time.
Upon reflection, if someone like Abbott had been involved we might have had a psuedo green policy resulting in something like a massive gas expansion and even more money wasted on CCS . Things that might have been locked in for years at great expense such as l alluded to in my previous post.
As you say, some of this is just dumb luck.
Technology has caught up and Labor has put the foot down effectively locking in Australia's transition to renewables while remaining reasonably flexible technology wise.
l watched the the third installment of Nemesis this week . l was quite surprised how opposed the RWNJ Nationals were to Morrison going to COP26 and agreeing to a net zero target. lt looked like he had a real tough job of sealing the deal . Those RWNJ idiots of the Nats area worry.
