    Oh No - Now it is too windy - expect power cuts.....what s the back up when wind turbines are turned off??? 2minutes of battery & shut down industry I guess.

    Bman - those capacity factors are about to fall even further.

    ..economics 101 question for the greenies...when demand increases & supply reduces..what happen to the price (in ANY product you wish to think of.)

    Damaging winds forecast for multiple states, power cuts possible.

    The windiest days this week are expected to be today and tomorrow, as a cold front moves across southeastern Australia. A low-pressure system will then move across the Bight later this week, bringing another burst of strong winds to the region.

    Damaging winds should impact parts of South Australia, Victoria, New South Wales and the ACT tomorrow and Thursday, while the gusts will hit Tasmania daily between today and Saturday.

    Most wind turbines are halted if the wind speed reaches 90km/h, which means that the wind power is not being harnessed.
